aku rasa masalah skarang ni, adalah ramai yang blur pasal GST kita dapat banyak sangat information so tak tau mane betul mana salah
dan yang lagi best, kita ingat kita tau GST tu macam mane (i.e. at most pun bayar extra 6% dari yang kita bayar sebelom ni) tapi in the end, kita banyak tengok kedai yang naikkan price well more dari kos sebenar GST tu belom kira yang GST charge double (macam kat Old Town White Coffee)
dan yang terbaru, kes ini. percubaan menaikkan harga
So, to experience the GST myself, today I went to buy my favourite Bubble Tea at Chatime Malaysia in KLSentral. My favourite flavour is Classic Hazelnut Milk Tea add Pearl which usually cost RM4.90 for the tea and add RM1 for the pearl, so usual price is rm5.90. Upon ordering, the cashier girl is smart enough to tell me that the price is different from the menu because of the GST. I said ok and proceed. The total price is RM 7.60, which is rm 1.7 difference! So I look at the receipt (refer picture).
1. no GST ID, so I asked the girl, where is your GST ID, then she hand me the name card and ask me to call the number (no.4). 2. the milk tea itself is now RM6.50 instead of RM4.90 (RM1.60 difference!) and the pearl is rm1.1 instead of rm1 (this make sense because if 6% gst = rm1.06 rounded up to rm 1.1) 3. despite the changed price, GST is still charged on what -I am not sure - that cost RM0.37. I calculated and if 6% from the old price rm5.90, it is rm0.354 - which is close enough) 4. so the name card state that mon-fri I can call from 10am to 10pm if I have any price related matter to ask, but from 7pm until now, nobody picks up the call. Plus chatime.com.my is now under site maintenance. Go figure!
So, that's it, this probably will be my last chatime, just because I disagree with this ridiculous pricing. I think one good side of GST is that now I can easily get off the addiction on all the overcharged unhealthy processed stupid junk food that I like to contaminate my body with. ha ha ha! Good riddance!
p/s: I made this post public, so share away! I did complaint on chatime FB, let's see what they say. Regarding the GST thing, the ministry say what? Make a report at customs? My question is, when I report, and when everybody who experience such thing report, will they take action? Malaysia is well known for weak enforcement, we have law, but no enforcement. So, how long will it take for the report to be taken action on? and at the mean time, public still need to pay for the overprice stuff while they are taking action on errand business owners, right? and do I get my money back when the business is found guilty?
